Spotting scope

What are you using for a set of binoculars to start with. Personal I use 15x50 binoculars. I used to use spotting scope too. I do set my binoculars on a tripod to watch. Unless going after the biggest of whatever. Especially if you working with someone else. The other is learn how to read and judge our animal that you are after. Like noting a muley ear generally stick out about 22" from tip to tip. Then how much is beyound the ears on either side.

Well there is lots of space between cheap and needing an expensive one.
Not a thing wrong with a good aluminum tripod with a smooth working head.
Id be looking on Ebay.

What about the vortex razor 13-39x56. Not sure what the weight comparison is with the nikon but cabelas has a 15% off code for them right now. Drops to $850 plus tax and shipping. Leaves you with about 1k for really nice teipod set up.

I would look at a nice fatboy tripod with one of their ball heads that will support your spotting scope as well as your rifle.

If your indecisive on which brand of spotting scope, perhaps you might want to take a look at a BullsEye camera system. With the Wi-Fi receiver mine is good up at least up to 1 mile. Been using it for years and say to heck with the spotting scopes. Although I have mine set up not only on my phone but on a laptop as well.
