sighting in problems

trying to sight in browning bar .280 with brand new scope. can't get it to do better than 1.5 inches at 27 yards,rings are tight. can anybody help?gun)

Are the action screws tight? Is the bolt touching any part of the stock? Tell a little bit more about the gun/scope...have you had it for a while or buy it used, did it used to shoot good etc.

Agree w/ Chas, check the action screws, scope mount and ring screws. But really, if your close to aiming point at 25 yds; you can move out to 100 yds now. I've personally noticed some TERRIBLE parallax at close distances with alot of scopes. Kinda hard to shoot a good group with bad parallax issues. Hopefully the brand new scope isn't the issue, but occasionally scopes are bad, even the high dollar ones. If you cant shoot a decent group at 100 yds, and you have a spare scope; try the other scope just to see if the new scope is the issue...............hopefully you find the fix to be simple.
