I'm not trying to instagate or **** anyone off but I have a question.
I'm shopping for a new optic for 6.5 creedmoor.While I was shopping I've come across some super expensive scope 3-4-5 thousand dolllars.My question is who's buying scopes that cost that much and why.Id like to hear from you guys.

because they can. price is relative, incomes vary, wants are different for each person.

plus you can get into the cool guys club and shoot amazing without all the practice.

I generally spend more money on the optic than I do the firearm. I always buy the best scope that I can afford. Of course that has fluctuated over the years.

Burris Veracity is the most I'll spend on a hunting rifle optic. But I limit shots to 600-700 depending on wind.

I think that's the practical limit for the creedmoor for deer. Less for elk. So a Burris Veracity or Signature scope would work fine for the creedmoor.

Don't let Vortex marketing fool you. The only scope that compares to the veracity is the razor and it costs 2.5x as much.

If you want to spend that much, nightforce, Swarovski, Leopold, or zeis, but not Vortex. I have friends with those scopes, and They are better than the Veracity.

They nor I have been impressed with Vortex.

If you want to long range target shoot with the creedmoor, 1000+, go with the better scopes.

Burris Veracity scopes are definitely good bang for the buck. Burris optics in general are .

I have over a half dozen high end scopes, but only bought two of them new. You can save 30%-40% off by buying them used.
You can find some really good deals if you're not in a hurry to get a scope, and can get higher quality optics that will fit into a lower priced budget.

I buy them and always have. I travel a minimum of 1000 miles per hunt in my decades of hunting. I go on guided hunts and can not afford failures. Can't just go grab a replacement scope when you're in remote areas.

People who are serious about there shooting and people who have the funds to play in that circle. The top end scopes are "better"but not nessecary for everyone. I use top end Lupe's, or equivalent, I don't play in the March or TT circles cuz it's just too much for my budget and needs.

I had an event once that taught me to use better glass on scopes. Long story short we had a wounded buck bed a cross a canyon in thick brush. I was on my gun and my buddy was on his. I had vortex viper he had a swaro. He is describing to me where the buck is bedded saying he is right below bright green bush. Well in my optics all bushes were dull and nothing stood out. After it was all done and buck was dead I compared the 2 scopes and what a huge difference in clarity. Needless to say I don't use the viper anymore.

Purchased 5 last year all 4k plus. I look at the cost of hunting trips which I take several each year and when you add up flights, rental cars, licenses, guide fees and hunt cost easily 5k to 20k each. Early morning and late evening are the most likely time to see the big boys. Most of my trips include flights and I have never had one come off zero from a flight which a number of my good friends using lesser scopes cannot say. Have loaned my backup gun to them on a number of occasions. Even when I was on tight budgets I would save up for good glass and don't skimp on your mounts just as important. Top of the line scopes also have a good resale market. They also tend to have better mechanicals inside which translates to better tracking.
