Might be more magnification than you are wanting but I have had a 6-18 that worked fine in the woods in MS.

Or this if you can live with a moa has reticle. Should help if you need to hold for wind etc.

I was going to suggest the 3-15 nxs, pending answers to a few questions. A little over budget ($1700) but ticks all the other boxes and is dead reliable.
