I'm looking at getting a new scope for a browning 300wsm. I'm between 3 Leupold vx5hd zeiss v4 or nightforce shv all of which are between the 3-16 power and illuminated. Any suggestions? I've got several leupolds don't have a zeiss or nightforce. This gun is going to be a hunting gun also a target shooter to possibly max 600 yards

If weight doesn't matter the SHV is bullet proof. With the way Leupold is making scopes currently. I won't even give them a sideways glance. Zeiss Conquests are in the same category as Leupold.

If possible, look through all three, preferably at dusk. Your eyes will tell you more than any spec sheet. But based on your described use case, the Zeiss V4 offers the most compelling blend of what matters for a hybrid hunting/target rifle.

I am just up the ride from you in Conover. If you are looking for a scope to do local hunting, then the Zeiss will meet your needs. If you think you might be doing some traversing in the mountains, then NF. Now, with that said, I prefer the Zeiss V6 and the NF NX8 or ATACR series. Just saying.
