Scope height

How do you find the scope mounted height. And also what is the significance of knowing this for long range shooting. I am assuming this is the height from center of bore to center of scope. But I do tend to make an *** out of my self my than most. Thanks for the input

Yes, center to center. Measure with a ruler to the nearest 1/16" is sufficient.
