Savage LRPV Scope Mount Hole Screws

My new Savage LRPV did not come with screws in the scope mounting holes that Savage drills and taps into the receiver. Am I supposed to have screws?

The scope bases that you mount will have the screws with them.

Thanks, MB. This is the first new from the factory rifle I've ever bought that came with holes only.

Make sure you shorten the front screw so it doesn't bottom on the barrel threads. It will be pretty short so some care torquing it is in order.

I always install that front screw first to make sure it snugs down on the base. If it doesn't, then I'll shorten it.
