For the Savage guys/gals that have had work done on there Savage bolts. Who would you recommend? I'm wanting a bolt lift kit installed and the firing pin turned and bolt face bushed.

i have 6 110 actions (4 factory builds, 2 actions only) and the only thing i've done on 1 is exchange the accu-trigger for a rifle basix. all of those actions are smooth, so which do you have? i've read where some (depending on model) have had their action worked on due to gritty feeling and a few other things, but don't remember which model they had?

I had to lap the raceways using my bolt to smooth it out. It was gritty. I installed the lift kit myself and swapped the bolt face out. I haven't bushed the pin for it since I replaced the bolt face. It made that task go away.

My god, don't screw this up at Sharp Shooter's Supply or you will be extorted and then put in time-out like a child!

Fred's website can come off a bit unreasonable, but he wants to do things his way. I have dropped stuff off after he accepted my work by email. He is talker and pretty friendly. He has been treated well by some and like an industry servent by others. This stuff has soured him a bit.

I think he may also be caught in a bit of a pickle. He was at the peak of his game and then others took work from him like other gunsmiths doing weird bolt lift kits and Remington style truing. Then Tikka has kind of replaced Savage as the poor man's custom or entry rifle that punches above its weight.

I recently had Accurate Shooter member 'Carlsbad' do my bolt-bushing for my Savage 6 BR-A. Great work and turn around time was a couple weeks.
