Hi all,

I'm recently back to the forum after taking a couple years off being busy with work and school, so if this is in the wrong category, please let me know.

As the title states I am looking for an aftermarket stock for my savage axis SA in .308. I like the gun a lot and plan to slowly do custom work to it. Is there any stock around other than the Boyd's?

Thank you in advanced!

Boyd's I believe provides the best stock after market support for the Savage Axis line thus far.

Sharp Shooter Supply - The Savage Specialists has Axis ProHunter stock.

MDTAC makes an aluminum chassis for it if your into the tactical stuff, very nice stock system and it acepts aics mags

Not sure why you don't want a Boyd's and not sure if any other companies make a stock for the Axis yet. I put a Boyd's thumbhole on my .223 and love it. I haven't really seen anyone complain about a Boyd's either. Unbolt your stock and slap on the Boyd's and your ready to go. You can't beat the pricing either.

Normally I like to bed the action but didn't have time to with this stock before a hunt. Shot 5 shots in about a nickle at 100 yards. Not sure if bedding would make much difference.

Just my .02, I highly recommend the Boyd's. I will be replacing a few other plastic stocks with them as well.
