I picked up a Savage model 11 22-250 at a local pawn shop. Gun looks like it was hardly shot. Has a plastic stock which I decided had to go on the way home from the pawn shop. Any recommendations for a decent quality stock that won't break the bank?

I have the exact same rifle as yours and that stock is as flimsy as it gets. I think I am going to go with a boyds but havent pulled the trigger quite yet. They are pretty affordable too.

@Alekzandr pm me when you get enough posts.

Back on track. I think HS makes stocks for savages as well but they are a little more spendy.

I have a Boyd's thumb hole stock on a mdl 16, it's okay but heavy. The last two rifles I've put together I used the factory plastic stocks with an aluminum arrow bedded from under the recoil lug to the swivel stud. It works pretty good and the stock is still lighter than the laminate.
