I have a new Savage 10 .308 that I bought this summer for my son. He wants to have it coated to OD green.
My gunsmith says for dura coat it needs to be parkerized first if it doesn't already have it.
The finish it has from the factory is a matt black with a light textured feel to it. Is it parkerized or some other finish?
