I have a Sako Black Bear rifle with their rubber type stock(factory) it has turned "sticky" and when I contacted Betetta and was advised to send the rifle in for their help, well after 3 1/2 months the rifle was returned with a letter stating the rifle was discontinued, not warranted and I'd have find a replacement on my own, thanks for nothing BERETTA..,,,

I don't know why manufacturers keep using that finish. Same thing happened to my sako finnlight and my benelli cordoba. I've heard browning x-bolts suffer from the same issue. I fixed the problem rubbing the stock with some alcohol. It took about 20 minutes to fix it. If you use just alcohol you'll remove just the stickiness and keep part of the finish. You can go even further with a plastic scraper and paint thinner to remove it completely. You just soak the stock with thinner using a rag, wait 2-3 minutes and start scraping. If you are having a hard time removing the plastic just rub it with more thinner and it will soften up.
