Remington VLS & VSF...big difference?

Targetbuster,
I too have a 243 VLS but i have swapped it into a PSS stock.
Its wonderfully accurate, much better then i thought.

The picture shows the results of a warm load of 47grns H4350ext and a 70grn SMK.

I hope you enjoy your VLS as much as i do.

Centre Punch.

RAMSES I have 3 VLS REM If you like wood buy the VLS. Then you can buy a H S Precison stock. Remington pull off at GO GO Varmint classified for about 160.00 shiped .They is one for sale about every two weeks

Ramses, I have a good friend who tried a shaw barrel on his 6.5-284 and was not at all pleased with it. He switched to a different company and had tremendous results out of his broughton barrel in a 6.5-284. I would go with a Broughton, Lilja, Shilen, or any other top end producer.

I recive my vls .243 tommoroow, but I have added $100 AUS to get it with the HS stock (not sure if this was a good move or not) They are a great looking gun with that laminate wood.

Alos have a rem 700 PSS .300 RUM coming !! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Oh, you VLS owners, do you get copper fouling the last .5" of barrel at muzzle end? I do and its a pain to remove. And its only at that spot after shooting.

[/ QUOTE ] I have that on my VLS and VS. Must be a barrel thing. It's annoying, but does not seem to hurt accuracy.

the problem I mentioned has since vanished after sending 200 rounds down the tube. What copper I can visibly see at the muzzle, now comes out without much work /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Im also using nothing but 168grain matchkings now, where as before I was switching out between off the shelf American Eagle FMJ's, Federal softpoints, and some Remington core lokts.

Oh and you're correct, It does Not interrupt accuracy. Infact my VLS simply shoots better the dirtier it gets. Obviously theres a point where the accuracy drops off but I dont even go for good groupings until Ive fired 15 or so rounds after a cleaning.

Hi Redbone, I use the Model 1907 slings from Turner: Link

If you go to their FAQs page, there are 2 links on how to attach and use that style sling.

Before you buy, check out this sling from Tactical Intervention Specialists: Link
I've been thinking of buying one.
Here's a thread on slings: http://longrangehunting.com/ubbthreads/s...=true#Post73132
