Remington AWR vs. Montana x2 vs. other?

All,
I am not looking for a full custom rifle...nor do I need something with sub .5MOA accuracy, however, I do like to try and get the best bang for my buck. Goal is to get a rifle which will shoot to 500yards on deer but also be on the light to middleweight side. I want to just buy an off the shelf rifle that I do not need to modify (buy new stock, have bedded...etc.) I see the Remington AWR go for about 900$ around me and I see Montana x2 on gunbroker for around the 1200$ mark which means about 1300$ including shipping and FFL fees. I know the Remington comes with the xmark pro trigger which leaves a bit to be desired. I do not mind buying a Timney trigger and installing it (I have done it before). that would bring the cost up to about 1050$ for the AWR. So what do you all think. Which do you like better and why? Should I consider a different rifle? 1300$ is the top of my budget. Thank you!

I would decide on what type of action I wanted and order accordingly. The Montan x2 is a Mauser style action. The Remington, of course, is REM 700 style.
I don't really care as the rifle will never be modified later so no need to buy an action with that in mind. I simply want the best chance for a shooter out of the box without needing mods or coming with a flimsy stock.

Understand. What I was getting at, is for some folks, if they don't like how the action, safety, or how loading and unloading works, they don't like the rifle.

Hard to say which one would shoot the best. But the Montana has a button rifled, hand lapped barrel and the barrel probably would have the greatest affect on accuracy, so I would probably pick the Montana.

Suggestion if you're not set yet:
Nosler is running a big sale on their factory rifles for Black Friday. They have Timney triggers and PacNor barrels. Very accurate rifles from what I've seen.

In that price range I would also consider a weatherby range certified (nearly identical to the awr). As well as tikka models, great accuracy and a superb trigger. I recently purchased a tikka t3x CTR in 6.5. I am very happy with it, probably wont buy another remington. Shoots hornady black a legit .5moa-.6moa and hornady 129 interlocks about .75-.8moa. After a few sight in and break in rounds I shot several 5 shot groups with all the holes touching. And it is not all that heavy either.

On a side note: I do have a remmy 5R that I am happy with, however i did have to replace the trigger.

Depends on what you would consider mid weight. Savage 12lrp weighs in at 11lbs and comes with a great stock and I haven't seen one that doesn't shoot. A 110fcp adds a few more caliber options with the same stock.

Now that I have read your entire original post, you CAN NOT go wrong finding and buying a older Tikka t3 Light especially if weight is a prime factor in your choice. Mine has consistently given me MOA accuracy more often than not, sub-MOA. For under $600 TMD W/S&H&FFL/XFR I humbly defy anyone to produce a better all around light weight hunting rifle in the same price range.
There are still some great deals to be found on stainless T3 Lights and even more if blued is OK with you.
