Rem.700 5r 300wm

Going to give reloader 22 a try. Has anyone had any luck with imr 7828? I bedded the action lug with no real improvement. I tried another scope(cheap) and saw some difference -not a ton but decided to send the vortex back for a checkup before burning more ammo. I should get the scope back in a week or 2 and will know more then
I'm using 7828 SSC in my .300WM with Berger 210 VLD's, Norma brass, and Fed 215M primers, seated about 0.010 to 0.015 (cant't remember exact, I'll have to look when I get home) off the lands, and it will still fit in my factory 700 5R mag box. Haven't been able to ladder-test my loads yet, but if you'd like I can look up and post the start and max recommended loads in my Berger manual when I get home from work.

What weight bullet?

According to the Berger manual this is the start/max loads for these bullet weights with 7828 SSC powder.

155gr: Start - 75.5 / Max - 83.8

168gr: Start - 75.5 / Max - 82.0

175gr: Start - 74.5 / Max - 81.1

185gr: Start - 72.5 / Max - 78.7

190gr: Start - 72.5 / Max - 78.2

210 VLD/215 Hybrid: Start - 68.0 / Max - 71.4

230gr: Start - 68.5 / Max - 72.0

My 300 WM shoots awesome with H1000, Fed 215M and 215 Bergers. Load them 30 thou off and it should shoot. I run them at 3000 fps with 79 gr of H1000. Work up to this. My friends 300 WM brass is a lot heavier than mine; and decreases his case capacity by about 2 grains.

Although many like H1000 or Retumbo for their ACCURACY traits, I find RE25 to be far better for consistency in my 300 Winnie with 208gr A-Max's. Velocity is very stable at just under a max load, high temps don't seem to affect it too much, I work up in summer temps because this is when I shoot comps.

Cheers.
