I have been thinking about trying this in the25/06 and .270 win and also considering the 100v hybrid or other newer powders out there.I always used the 4831's and 4350's over 40 years .I am a little leary about the Alliant product and have tried R 19 & 25. Any suggestions on the newer powders?

I have tried RL 17 in a few rifles but it never panned out, also heard it was temp sensitive. Hybrid 100V was fairly good in my 25-06 sendero but H4831SC was better accuracy wise with 115 Bergers. I have a whole bench of powders that looked great but just didnt work as well as the standbys. I also have a pound of the new IMR 7977 to try in the 25-06 with Bergers.

I have used it in 308 win and 300 wsm with good results. I currently use it in my 270 win with 165 matrix 52.1 gn fed 215m 26" barrel@ 2936 fps. It can be finicky but worth using when you find the right load.

What kind of velocities are you getting with other powders? Thanks

I have been able to get some impressive velocities in my .270 Winchester and my daughters 7mm-08 with R-17. Unfortunately a load that functioned perfectly during deer season, blew a primer last summer when we were punching paper. We thought it was an anomaly, but about two rounds later had a stiff bolt lift. I would love to try some of the new R-16, but until then I am back to H-4350 for these two rifles.
