By the time he buys the TSS shells for the 410. He may as well purchase a 22lr and a box of 22 shorts or subsonics. And in the long run a way cheaper solution to the problems that never end. lol

That makes sense. From what I have found on Bass/Cabela's website, they have some in a price range I can afford.
I have shot a buddy's lever before and I liked it. I don't think I would like a pump tho and I don't know anything about the blow-backs.
Of the cheaper ones on the page below, which do you recommend?

Don't work good with cci quiets segmented or subsonic ammo. Cheap Savage bolt and you are good to go. The cci quiet make less noise than a springe air rifle and hit a bunch harder.
Circles are 1" diameter on the outer ring. Centre dot is 3/16".

possums eat bugs, namely ticks.I'm not quite sure how possums are beneficial, however for the coons, if you really want to get rid of them the only way is to poison them with a high velocity lead pill of some sort. A friend tried the relocating method and the coons had found their way back in about two weeks. I guess if you drove for about two hours on an interstate highway it might give you a few years before they found their way back, or got run over on same said interstate. By the way, depending upon their diet, coon can be pretty tasty if prepared right.
Awesome TICK Control! We had several Possums living on our property and even came into our garage through the Cat door. Didn't have any ticks or bugs around while they lived here. This was when Samson was alive. He tolarted the Possums and Coons and Killed the Yotes that came after them. After Samson Passed eventually the Yotes got the Possums along with our pet Coons.
Now no Yotes on our property or any other animals except Deer due to Maximus and Cassie. Cassie wants to kill everything that is not within our family. No Armadillos, Possums, Coons, Squirrells (she will try to run up a tree after a squirrel). We have (5) Feline additions and (3) Feral Felines. Cassie lets our Felines live, but the Ferals have to stay at the edge of the Goat House.
Our neighbor uses a .410 for shooting Armadillos so maybe you should get a .410. Most are FULL Choke so you can use any shot size within a short range.
Be careful with shooting by your neighbors-maybe you should have a neighborhood watch and everyone shoot Yotes!

I believe Dean answered your question. But if you like a lever gun. Buy one. Just be sure to find a ammo it likes to shoot. I wouldn't be scared to buy a Rossi. I have read good things about them. I personally don't own one. I have Winchester and Marlin lever guns. Which will most likely cost you more than a new 22 lr produced today. And some lever guns may not like shooting subsonics or shorts. You may have worst precision. And possibly some feeding issues with certain ammo. Perhaps get on a Rimfire forum and research your options before buying. But a good bolt gun with a good scope is hard to beat. Pumps are easy to learn. If you run across a good deal on one. I would not pass on it.
In an urban setting,I'm concerned that a .22 rimfire will be prone to ricochet. A centerfire would probably be safer,but make some noise. Scattergun, relatively safe but again makes some noise. 25 or 30 cal. PCP in my humble opinion would probably be the best option. I don't know what your property is like or what the exact setting is, but thought I'd throw this out there because safety always concerns me.

One of these days I'm going to get me a 25 cal PCP just for the quiet factor. And cheap trigger time. That and they are a good starting point for youth.
