Im in the process of getting dies for my .270 and 300 win mag. Here is the problem I have stumbled across. Both rifles are browning bars. Through research was told I need small base full length dies. Plus a wilson case gauge and a hornady coal and length guage. Is all this needed? I will admit I have a box of factory remington soft points that jam every shot. I thought it was just the bullet doing it.

You certainly need a set of FL dies as a minimum but not small base dies. You may decide at a later date to get some specialty dies (neck die, bushing die, etc.).

You need calipers and a way to trim cases to length, I recommend the Lee Case Length Gage and Ball Handle Cutter.

I recommend Forster Benchrest dies, the sliding sleeve seat die yields excellent ammo with low runout.

You don't need anything from Hornady.
