As you know, there are several varieties of them. The one you have there is pretty good, lighter more silver than gold. The darker and more golden the bigger that red vien is. I also know folls that go crazy for the egg sacks before they spawn. I'm out on that lol.

The best ones we try to get rt after ice out in the spring when the water is still real cold. Those things will be as white as paper and hardly no mud line.

I forgot about the egg sacks!!! That was my Dad's favorite part!... along with squirrel balls and gravy!!!

This guy had reached the end of his career... he was floundering around out in the water, so we netted him.
