Finishing up a build and getting ready to mount a 5.5-22-56 NXS on my rifle. It is a 700 LA in 260 26" #6 Douglas HS Precision PSt 087 stock. Wondering what your thoughts were on were on putting Rail/Rings or the Unimount system. Any and all comments appreciated gentlemen.

I have both rail/rings and 1-piece mount setups. The 1-piece is nice for a lightweight hunting rifle (like the DNZ products) or for an AR rifle. The rail/rings (in my opinion) is the way to go for a LR rig, or any rifle you want the most solid scope mounting for strength and rigidity, or for a a big heavy scope, incase you drop it or bump it on something while hunting.
