Would someone with QuickLoad please be so kind as to run a report for me?

Cartridge: .243 Winchester
Bullet: .243, 95, Nosler Partition 16315
Usable Case Capacity: 54.8 grain H2O
Cartridge O.A.L.: 2.676 inch
Barrel Length: 22.0 inch
Powder: Alliant Reloder 17

I've been shooting this load with 39.6 gr. for years with no pressure signs and recently started to see a few ejector marks. I've never found a published max for this combination but velocity tells me it should be around 42.0 gr. I'm just trying to figure out what's going on.

Thanks in advance,
Bruce

Bruce, 39.6 grains of Reloaded 17 with all your info shows a chamber pressure of 43122 psi. A little on the anemic side for pressure. You may have a carbon ring coming on. 42 grains, 51472 psi, not even close to maximum.

Don Dunlap

I didn't think I was close to max. I'll check out the carbon ring suggestion. Thanks Don!
