Putting TL3/Origin prefits on a Savage

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that an Origin or TL3 shouldered prefit could be made to be a shouldered Savage small shank barrel by pushing the shoulder forward to the appropriate headspace. Savage appears to have a longer tenon length, with the same thread and flat breach face. So, then ideally you would just push the shoulder forward the .025 or so, that would get you to the correct headspace. Worst case scenario, if it isn't carbon wrapped, you could turn the shoulder off and follow the threads through to make it a small shank barrel nut system prefit, correct?

Yes, but why?

If you're going to all that work, I'd be easier to just chuck up a barrel and shoulder one up...my 2 cents, worth even less than that
