Marlin "XL7" action with 26" Mcgowen savage magnum contour barrel with Harrel's brake. Bedded action into a Model 70 Extreme Weather stock, with a PTG aluminum bottom metal. Vortex 5-15x44 Mil/Mil scope mounted in Talley 30mm LW rings. Super fun rifle to shoot, fast, accurate, and the cartridge is impressive. No pressure issues and seems to be real easy on brass so far.

Chambering work was done by Jim @ Apache Gun Works. Duracoated action and barrel with Gray Wolf.

Rifle weighs 10lbs. 2oz.

I'm sure you actually necked down 7 saum brass. I'm impressed with all the parts you magnaged to make work with each other.

I've got all the parts finally to send off to the smith for my build but I'm not sure if I want a brake or not. Have you shot yours with and without your brake?
Thanks

Thanks guys. Most of the parts just took minimum work. The stock requires the most work. Forgot to mention the trigger has been reworked, and breaks really nice at 1.5lbs.

So far I have shot it at a 700 yard 12" plate, and just hits it like a hammer. The only clean plate was at 400 yards which was 6" and I shot 3 round at it. The group had to be an easy 1 1/2" or better.

I can't wait to really stretch it out past 1k. On my next outing I'm going to shoot it with the brake.
