If you are not close to max and the CCI is not a magnum primer (you didn't say) there is not problem. Big issue is when someone is at max or even over max and changes a component (brass, powder, primer or bullet. Thats when it is time to back off and work up.

It won't be a big difference in MV(maybe ~30fps), but it could be big/good/bad for accuracy.
Primer changing is something to avoid once load development is completed.

I found Winchester primers hotter than anything else over the pressure trace some years ago.
It will probably change POI due to being cooler.
My 22-250AI will only shoot well with WLR primers.

Only problem I have found with CCI is that they stretch the primer pockets

In the pistol brass, I have found that CCI primers run slightly larger than Remington primers
(which is what I use most) after reloading with CCI, if I with back to the Rem. primers they are loose. But, If I reload that same brass with CCI they still fit snug.
I have also had the same issue when reloading for the .223AI
Having said all of that.....these weren't hot loaded.
So when I run a CCI primer, I know that's the last primer that brass will use.

Changing anything on a good proven load may or may not lead to catastrophe however the changing of primers is the least of your worries. Primers do not change velocity, their only difference is how hot they burn, not how much they increase velocity. I have been reloading rifle and pistol cartridges since 1970 and have found that changing primers has a negligible difference on the way a particular load shoots once you pull the trigger. Standard vs Magnum primers makes no difference. My 308, 30-06, 270 and 300 win mag loads do not care what primer I use (qualification 300 win mag much prefers mag primers since they burn hotter and help ignite the magnum powder charges) I can use standard or magnum primers interchangeably on non magnum loads and not have any changes in the point of impact of the bullet as long as all other factors remain the same. I don't chronograph, I just look at the targets with a 100 yard zero. So far primers have not made a significant difference in any non magnum cartridge I load. I do not aspire to endorse non magnum primers in magnum loads, but in vice versa it doesn't seem to make a 100th MOA difference. Don't believe me, try it for yourself.
