I am not sure where to put this thread where the most people could read it so I just slapped it in here.
I bought a pair of Kenetrek boots a while back as I do a lot of hunting in some rough areas. The boots were superb and super comfortable. My feet didn't even hurt while doing the break in. I know everyones feet are different and some love kenetrek boots and some say they don't fit them right. But my experience has been all good. I have done my part to take care of these boots. I have cleaned the boots and oiled the leather after every hunt. The leather is scratched up but in very good condition.
I had them for a while and the tread was starting to get worn down and the rubber lining on the side of the boot was starting to come apart. I sent them in to get new laces, soles and pads put in as well as a new rubber lining. They do this service for $175 which is better than having to buy another pair of $450 boots. It took a few months to get them back and when I did, I was a little miffed that the cobbler did a sloppy job on sealing the rubber lining on the side of the boot. I could just look at it and tell that it was going to come undone and I know nothing about making boots. I sent their CS an email with pictures and an explanation. They replied within a day and said that they apologized for the bad experience and to send them back in and they would take care of it right away. Well I had a few hunts coming up soon so I told them that and that I would send them in if they didn't hold up after my hunts.
The sealant and rubber lining started giving way after the first hunt. After my 4th hunt was over, the rubber lining was coming undone in many places on each shoe. I emailed them last week and explained the deal all over again and I got an email back very soon stating to just send the boots in and they would evaluate them. So I sent them in and within three days, I got an email stating that they had received my boots and did an evaluation on them and would be repairing the boots at no cost.
To me that is great customer service and proof that they stand behind their product. If you are ever in the market for some very nice hunting boots but are unsure if the price is worth it, Kenetrek boots are definitely worth the money. They even sell them on this website I do believe.
