Pinned recoil lug

Just started pricing and picking components on another project build. The idea was dropped on me to consider pinning a oversized recoil lug (fitted to the chassis, inlet for a non-factory) BUT, for the work and money, for what you get, I really don't think it's necessary to pin a recoil lug to a receiver, in my experience. If you have the action bedded into a stock and you might change the barrel sometime it would be good to have the lug consistantly located on the action.

As far as a thicker recoil lug - I heard it asked once, do you think your shoulder can bend the standard thickness lug?
