On March 15th I located five long beards, I watch them every day in the same field until I left on the 25th. I came home on the 1st of April, the gobblers were still in the field daily. On the 4th(the day before the opener) I go out and the turkeys are gone, have not seen hide nor feather of them since. Can anyone help me figure this out? was it a predator? I guess I'm just lost any help would be appreciated.

That's pretty common. When it gets time to start mating they break up and travel pretty far. As long as a person or a predator didn't nab him there will be at least one of them within a square mile.

Also, if they have been spooked they won't gobble very little or not at all, but they will come in. If you are limited to that one area just put your time in; set up and call for two hours and see if one wanders in.
