Old Powder Cans

My Dad had a reloading supply shop when I was younger and we've reloaded for long time. We dug out some old powder cans this evening that he's acquired over the years. Prices on a few of them. Good times. Thought maybe some may enjoy here.

Some time ago I pulled out a green steel can of IMR 4320 having a red price sticker marked at about $3.95 or so. I took it outside & carefully uncrewed the red cap expecting red-brown NO2 fumes and possibly ignition - arms length & oven mits. Nothing evolved & the stuff looked OK, It must have been 38 years old. A 10X look showed a normal appearance. Burning a teaspoon of the powder on damp concreate gave expected results, yellow-orange flames I then poured out the remaining power in a long line & put a match to it. I kept the empty can for some time but now it is gone.

I one had a 2 1/2 gallon steel gas can of surplus H4831 & happily used it in my 6.5-06. About $0.75 / pound. At 49 - 52 grains for 129 & 140 grain bullets it lasted a long time.

NICE Hard to believe that someday our grand kids will be looking at the price tag on our powder cans saying look how cheap it was back then.

I have some of those & they are still full. lol
Do we have a year when they quit using the metal cans ?

Them old cans have value too for collectibles. He had an auction where he sold a bunch of items and I got like 35 or 40 bucks a can for those empty

Your best option is to find somebody that's got some of the old Lyman reloading manuals or other brands of manual

I remember my old Sierra manual from the early 70's had Alcan data. Wish I still had it.

If I'm interpreting the lot numbers right, we've got a couple 8# steel kegs that appear to be 90's era.

Winchester 630 load data?

Hoping someone could scan or list load data for Winchester 630 in 9mm, 357 mag and 45 ACP. Since I had newer reloading manuals, I didn't think there was a reason to keep my older ones before I moved. Thanks for your help.
