I should have included in my post above that the Norma primer pockets weren't out of spec, just exactly at minimum, .125" deep. Taking them to .128" allowed that "just below flush" seating.
My Sinclair cuts this latest batch of 338wm to .130-.131, that gives me .005"-.006" below flush.I have found new Norma cases in .270 WSM and .338-06 (I've not used other LRP cases) to have slightly shallow primer pockets, and so I uniform them to a good "heart of the envelope" depth. I cut them to .128" deep, having seen the specs of .125" to .132" as the range for LRP in multiple sources online. Cut to .128", they definitely "work."
