Norma 217 & 264 Win Mag

I am just completing my 264 build and I have a pound of norma 217 I would like to test but I cant find any info on the powder I know you can buy norma's manual but I don't even know if they have any loads listed for my catridge & powder combination any info on this power is greatly appreciated

Norma 217 does not show on the Lapua chart, but it is a good powder for the heavy magnums. Norma says that "Norma 217 is slightly slower than the discontinued MRP2. It was developed for the 30-378 Weatherby from start. Matches the .338 Norma Mag and .338 Lapua Mag perfect with heavy bullets. It is also a good candidate for [overbore cartridges] such as 7mm Rem Mag[.]"

This is what I do when looking to find a load for either a cartridge or powder that doesn't have published data. Look for ratios, if in other similar cases, powder charges are x% higher than powder b, and I'm looking for powder b, I have a starting point. Essentially it's cross referencing. Then I back it up with QL.

I've done this with Dakota cases and Berger bullets, and Norma MRP and common cases. For example, 7828ssc and MRP have very close charge weights. This has worked well for me. Start low and work up, like always.
