Here is the gun.
264Win 1/9 twist 26 inch Remington sendero.
Brass. Winchester.
Bullets. 140 Berger's, 135 Berger's, 142ABLR.
Powders: Retumbo, Magpro, Ramshot Magnum, IMR7828 and 7828sc.
Primer: CCI large rifle magnum or fed gold metal match magnum.

I really wanted to use the 142ABLR since I have the most of those. I originally was not going to use my Retumbo but I may. Would like to get buy with either Magpro, Ramshot Magnum, or 7828 in either, or I've looked at LRT also. But out of these what do you think is the best combo? I know the 1/9 will be better for the 135's also but have over 2 boxes in 142's. I generally save the Retumbo for my 300ultra mag. I also have a fair amount of hybrid 100V that I can use. What does people with this rifle see work for them, or similar 264 Win Mags?

I've hunted with my pre-64 Win 70, 264 Mag, 26" bbl, since 1975 using 60 gr IMR4831 under 140 gr Sierra SPBTs. Every hit was a pass-thru, no matter what range, on muleys, white-tails, antelope, coyotes, and all were DRT. I'm moving to Nosler 140 Accubonds but am still working up the load.

If you end up getting into some h1000 and need some load help I can PM some info.... H1000 seems to be a go-to for the 264 and the 6.5284 for many people. I personally load that 142 for my friend and his 264. Very very accurate combo... Kills like lightning for him

I have a feeling that the LRT won't get you where you could go..... I use it in the 26 nosler cuz I can pack tons of it in there and I'm still barely approaching pressure. It would probably work but be a little bit slower then what you could get.

Because of the speed that one in nine twist will probably be fine with the 142.

I have 3 current rifles in 264WM, 2 are stock 1:9" twist and 1 is custom with custom chamber and 1:8" twist.
Powders I have used are Retumbo, US869, H1000, H50BMG and RL25/33.
Of all, the 2 most consistent with my custom chamber have been Retumbo and H50BMG. US869 is excellent too, but I ran out and there is none to have here.
For my stock rifles, Retumbo and H1000 get the job done with either the 140g Accubond or 142g ABLR, which is all I use in my custom rifle. Been trying to get the 150g ABLR here with no luck.
I have excellent results with the 129g ABLR in the above and my custom 6.5x47 Lapua with 1:8" twist and custom 260AI with 1:8" as well.

Cheers.

As with anything else, YMMV. You will never know until you try. They are all near the same burn rate threshold.

I have a .264 Win with 1:9 and have never had better results than with the old (shorter) Sierra blitz and 140 BT GK. The best is Hornday 140 interlock, and minor success with 130 Barns FB. The others are just to long for that 1:9. Iv killed many mulies and coyotes with the Hornday. I mostly use IMR 4831, Hogden 4831 and 4831SC. I have found the best there in my rifle. H1000 was a little faster but not better. Through all the shortages I have found 4831. Also as noted when you find the combed stick there. The .264 earned that "shot out" name. If you update and want the longer bullets you should look to 1:7.5 twist. Just my $.02

I have had a few 264s my current 264 wears a 1-8 twist Brux. With 140 class bullets Retumbo has given me the best results. I get 3280fps and sub 1/2moa accuracy at 100 yards sometimes if I'm on my game this load will shoot in the .2s. I have shot it out to 1300 yards a few times and when I read the wind correctly it'll print 1/2 moa groups. It's probably my favorite rifle I've ever owned. A few of my buddies have been trying to buy it off of me for years. I have also tried h1000 and it was also good just not as good as Retumbo.

I had a blueprinted remington 700 with a 26" wilson 1 in 8 twist barrel. my best load was 80 grains of LRT with a 140 speer gold dot. This combo killed deer out to 475 yards and I only recovered one bullet. That bullet was a one shot kill heart shot at 250, and displayed a perfect mushroom. Out of a dozen deer (A tags and B tags) I only shot one twice, as I misread the wind on a buck at 425. I had a long throat to allow a C,O.L. of 3.462" with this bullet and was running 3240 fps. I sold it to finance a custom 338 Jarrett!

one of my all time favorites - the 264, i purchased a few cases of 130 nosler factory accubonds that have always served me well regardless of what 264 i was shooting.

Curious to see what everyone else uses - some great options in the 130 class bullet IMO but hope that 142's work for you.
