New toy stock help.

I just finished a 270 Sherman short mag. I purchased a mcmillian stock, but I'm not 100% satisfied with the forend as far as comfort goes. It's too square and doesn't feel good in the hand. Does anyone know if I can reshape the forend without compromising the integrity of the stock?
