I need another rifle like I need another hole in my head but I have the itch.
My question is, should I build on a 700 (I am a 700 guy) or build on a Tikka.
I like how smooth the action is on the Tikka and how they feel.
This will most likely be a 6.5 Creed, or a 6.5 short mag of some flavor.
Thinking #4 contour, 22-24" and will be used for whitetail/mule deer and speed goats.

thanks
John

Honestly it comes down to personal preference. I am a big 700 fan so that is what I would use, but the Tikka is a good action as well. You can smooth a Remington action with some lapping compound on the bolt body or you can have it jeweled and with a thin layer of oil this really slicks them up. The Remington also has a huge aftermarket with just about any stock, trigger, bottom metal, etc. that you could ask for.
