I just purchased a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 cm, I bought it as a spare/truck and something for my wife to shoot. I'd like to keep the rifle somewhat light and handy. I am looking for something with power no more than 14x. I am actually looking at the Burris veracity in 2-10x42 but I am not entirely fond of the reticle, or the Burris xtr ii 2-10 with the scr moa reticle or a Leupold vx-6 2-12. Any other suggestions?

Edit: I am really liking the Xtr II but I am concerned that it may be too much optic for this rifle.

I have a couple of them, one in 204,and one in 243.I put a Vortex 4-12 Diamondback on both, and I really like them.I bought them on Ebay.1 for $130 and the other for $159.
My next American is going to be a 6.5 Creedmore.

Good luck in what ever brand you pick

The XTR II is a fine optic. As to being too much for your rifle.... the 3.5x 15 is about 1.8lbs with your 6.5 listed at 6.6lbs.... ~8.5lbs ready to rock seems pretty dern decent to me.

Not really sure what you don't like about the reticle but if you're going to do some varminting with your rifle, the reticle is designed exactly for varminting. I have the 4-20x50 FFP BP E1Varmint reticle on my .270 AI and absolutely love it.

I know guys that shoot those rifles beyond 1K yards.

Can you post a picture of this reticle. The FFP reticles I have seen were too large on the higher magnifications.

I don't have an "actual" picture off my camera available but here's what the reticle look like and it's not too large at all at max magnification ...

FEENIX ,

That looks good. How much of the target is the reticle covering in the thin section? On the lowest setting what is the spacing between the thick parts at 100 yards?

I went with the 2-10x42 veracity, after shooting it, Ive come to like it. Kinda wish I would have went with the 3-15 but it not that big of a deal.

Feenix, do you have the 4-20 or 5-25 Ver ? I would use the E1 ret for quick shots out to 400 or so, do you find the clicks to be precise ?
