Here is the new 150g 308 caliber Power Hammer. We designed this bullet to replace the 152g Hammer Hunter. The two bullets are virtually identical other than the new Power Hammer has a 2mm hollow point vs the 1.5mm of the Hammer Hunter. Anyone that was using the 152g Hammer Hunter previously should be able to run the new 150g Power Hammer on the same load and see little to no change. There has been a couple of times over the last year or so that we have reason to suspect the 152g Hammer Hunter performance at lower vel. There are many stories of stellar results, but we simply can't stand to have potential for a problem that we can avoid by simply increasing the hollow point size slightly. We have always known that the 152g Hammer Hunter is one of our most difficult bullets to have proper low vel performance. When low velocity testing new lots of copper we know that if the 152g Hammer Hunter works properly that all other Hammers will work well too. When the raw copper is perfect there is no issue. If the raw material is not exactly perfect, then it could possibly show up in the 152g Hammer Hunter. The 2mm hollow point in the new 150g Power Hammer solves this nicely. The slightly larger hollow point opens dramatically easier. There will likely be a slightly lower bc in the Power Hammer. Not enough to make a difference in the range that these projectiles would be used.
Here is a pic of the New 150g Power Hammer next to the 152g Hammer Hunter. It is difficult to see any change.
