I just bought a Savage model 10 predator Hunter Max 1 in .243, it has a 20 MOA rail mounted on it. I'll be using a Vortex PST 4x16 FFP scope with 75 moa of vertical adjustment. The furthest I plan on ever shooting is about 600-700 yards, do I really need this rail, or should I remove it and just go with zero bases (which I already own anyway)?

    Thanks in advance..

    Welcome to LRH

You may not need it but i would keep it just in case. I never thought i would be trying to shoot as far as i am today, and i think that goes for a bunch of shooters that get bit by the bug. Why not have some extra usable elevation, if its already there?

I agree with Canadian Bushman, you already have it and its on the rifle, so I would go ahead and use it. Welcome to LRH!

Thanks to all you guys for your help. Sorry I had to change my handle but for some reason this site wouldn't let me log on with my old one.
