NEED LOADS for 30-378 Accumark

Howdy all, picked up a used Accumark 26" barrel. I have never had one of these, I did install a Area 419 muzzle brake and shot a couple factory 220 Hornady, WoW what a rush, this thing is Awesome. Bullets I want to try are 185 Juggernaut and 215 Hybrid. Powders I have, 50 Bmg, Us 869, LRT, Rl- 25and26, Retumbo, H-1000. Greatly appreciate all help. Thanks.

If I remember correctly @Window has a lot of experience with the 30-378 and plenty of other Weatherby offerings.

I went through 3 barrels on mine first two were 28 and last was 30. You are talking about short barrel like 400 rounds and case life. So it's best to zoom in and perfect one round. US 869 has the velocity with less pressure easier on the cases. I chose to perfect 220 grain. I didn't have the twist for 240's early on I dabbled with retumbo and these 210 hunting rounds. real elk medicine on loan for out of state hunts.

I just bought lots of kegs of 869. Just when the last barrel had about 500 rounds and was in need of a new one I had planned on up grading to 338-378 to double the barrel life. Reloader 33 had just come out and it was promising according to the 30-378 crowd.

When you look at the burn rate chart, you have limited choices of the slowest powders.

I just set my electronic measure to 120 grains of 869 and it's not a compressed charge. It's very impressive shooting in low light conditions.

Thank you, I am going to use 869, and the 185gr. This part of the country, you don't need the heavy weights. I've always liked the 869, most don't, as you said low pressure. Thanks again for your advice.

Same load but using 196 hammer hunters
1/4 moa. And 3330 fps

After I found hammers I didn't try more powder because I ran out of time and they shot so well. I didn't want to chase 100 fps or 1/4 moa.

Used hammers to kill my bull elk at 500 and it was a chip shot.

WOW, I have 200 gr ELD-X, maybe a little more weight and 869 would be better. I have Norma brass and Hornady. The 196 hammer, the 10 twist is okay? Thanks for your advice.

Yes my gun is a weathermark 1:10
26 inch barrel.
I think the sweet spot for the 30-378 with a 1:10 twist is 200 grain
