A lot of great advice and experience, good photos and stories. And nice to meet you all. Did some load development this past week, tried 3 different powders and 3 different bullets. Settled on 215 Hybrid bullets and H- 1000 powder. Had a great node with 101grs of H.1000, mild load 3040 fps but a .3 moa at 100yrd, o.a.l. 3.800 max for mag length, CCI250, new Norma brass. Agree with the above. I own several 300 RUMS. And I'm currently considering acquiring a 30-378 accumark.
I'm running 215s at 3200 and change with h1000 out of a 26" bbl. No pressure, great primers, brass is on its 6th firing. My question…..realistically, what will be gained with the big weatherby case?
Expand upon that please.
I've pushed 2 lug actions harder than some will ever believe. I'm not overly confident when looking at those 9 itty bitty lugs.

Have mine now for some 22-23 years also have a 300 Win Mag, 300 Wby Mag, 308 Norma and its the 30-378 DADDY of all the 30's out there for me anyway. Thats my 2 cents worth. Enjoy yous as much as I enjoy mine.
Have also a 7MM Wby mag, Wby actions , never a problem at least with the ones I have, besides I don't push my loads. If need be will go up a notch in calibers. Have the 338-35's and 37's sold the 50 BMG got to be a little too much for me now.

That's a good load one of my favorite caliber. I own 3 of them and they are beast but I did find that the longer the barrel. There is way more potential

Load wise I like the 180gr Nosler Silvertips,Partition & AccuBond with 50BMG powder also 7828 using 111.5 gr 50BMG keeps me in the high 3100 fps range
Been shooting 180gr. Barnes for years with R-25. @ 3400fps. Gonna give StaBall HD and the 174 gr. HH and see if we can get a node up around 3500 fps. Talk about an elk laser, using an 8" circle MPBR is 521 yards! At that distance it's still pushing over 2600 fps and over 2700 Ft. lbs. @ 800 it's 2241 fps and 1951 ft. lbs. I'll take that!!!!
