Im not following on how the cleaning rod got stuck in the bore. Usually those things are a very loose fit?

As I was pushing the rod down the bore the jag tore through the patch and slide up the rod . My rod is a 22 cal proshot rod and with a patch wrapped around it it fits very tight! Tight enough that I can't get it out!

I would try to pinch the rod near the rear with vise grips and tap it out backwards by lightly striking the vise grips.
