Does anyone have load data for using N540 with 50-55gr bullets in a Swift? Burn rate looks promising for the Swift.
Thanks

Sierra lists the following data for N540,

50 Grain Projectiles,
Start Load 34.3 grains for 3400 fps
MAX LOAD 38.6 grains for 3800 fps

55 Grain Projectiles,
Start Load 31.8 grains for 3250 fps
MAX LOAD 37.3 grains for 3650 fps.

I just purchased the exact same Ruger m77V bicentennial. Can you give me more data on your one hole load? I have some Norma brass on order and 55 grain blitzking bullets. THX--Derral--

My N540 loads are with 55 grain tipped Varmageddons seated at 2.772". 38.4 grains =3884 fps avg, SD 19 fps,
N150 with 50 grain tipped Varmageddon at 2.760". 38.2 grains = 3809 fps avg, SD 6 fps
RL15.5 with 50 grain BlitzKing at 2.735". 39.6 grains = 3934 fps avg, SD 6 fps

N540 heats up the barrel faster on my Winchester M70 Varmint. N540 is only used in my nitrided 5.56 from now on. N150 put 4 different loads into a nice .485" hole at 100 yards starting with 37.4 - 38.6 grains in 0.4 increments of powder.

RL15.5 is showing great promise, more time at the range when it's not raining will help.

All loads used Winchester brass and Federal GM210M primers.

N540 37.2 = 3749 fps avg, 107 ES, 75 SD
37.6 = 3788 fps avg, 54 ES, 30 SD
38 = 3829 fps avg, 74 ES, 37 SD
