Anyone using this powder? With 7828 discontinued and my dwindling stocks of RL26, I'm thinking about giving this a try with 160 Accubonds. Anyone have any experience? I also have Grand, H1000 and RL25.

RL25 is my go-to when other powders like Retumbo dried up, but since I was able to stock up on Retumbo, I have no need for anything else.
Retumbo is great in the 7STW, as is H50BMG with 180/195's.

Cheers.

The 160gr Accubonds are the bees' knees in my STW. I load them with H1000 to approximate the Nosler factory loading, usually four shots go into one hole and the velocity is around 3250.

Not to sidetrack your thread but I didn't realize that 7828 was discontinued. Was this just recently announced? Not sure how I missed this
The last time I saw it on a shelf was pre-COVID. That's when I bought an 8 pounder. I love 7828 SSC. Single digit SDs every time. Not sure why they got rid of that one…

With 7828 discontinued
I searched and searched for information about it being discontinued and the only thing that I found was when they discontinued the long cut version years ago. 7828 SSC isn't discontinued and I switched from long cut to the SSC without any problems. Some larger cases may have fill % problems using the SSC compared to the long version.

I called Hogdon and was told they don't know if SSC will ever be available. Traditional 7828 has been discontinued.

N-565 is bring Used, by my grandson, in his 6.5 PRC to obtain,.. 3,135 fps w/ 140 gr. H-VLD Bergers and Accuracy in, the 3's / .4's
Sadly, Win StaBall HD, couldn't come close to, Getting THAT, kind of,.. Velocity

When IMR 7828 was Discontinued ( I Had, 2 Lbs, left ) Then, I MIXED in, ( Stirring Well ) 4 lbs of, the Newer 7828 SSC and It,.. shoots,.. FINE !
NO Difference, in Burn Rate as it's only, chopped Up to, Shorter granules !
The "Mixed" Powder, Looks UGLY But,.. Shoots Great in, a .270 WSM !
It would Be a Big Mistake to, Discontinue IMR 7828 SSC, as MANY Hunters / Shooters,.. USE,. it !
