We had a good time today, wind was 3mph right in our face. Had targets (2 liters and steel plate) at 500 yards set up for Hunter. He nailed them using his Burris ballistic plex, it actually got him real close using the 500 yard reticle. Then we had paper set up at 770 and 908 yards.
At 770 I was on target first time, the 900 target we had to go check it and make some horizontal adjustments before we got were we needed to be. We had a ball, had a new fellow there that got scope bit by my .243..... fun stuff.
4th hill over is at the 900 target.

That's great, it's a great day when you can get some people rounded up to shoot. I am sure you were very proud of your son. Great shooting and hope you get more soon gun)

Is that VLS your 243? If so, what are you shooting in it? Would like to share some loads with you if you'd like.

Yes it is, I'm shooting:

Berger 95gr Hunting VLDs at about 3000fps
42.8 gr of IMR 4831
Win Primers
Win Brass

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Never have shot any VLD's out of mine. Just the standard Speer, Sierra and Hornady. My VLS really does well with the 105 AMAX bullets.

Of the powders I have used it likes the IMR7828 best.

So far my most accurate load is
Hornady 105 AMAX
45.5 grains of IMR7828
WLR primer
Reminton case
Bullet seated to 2.795"

This round is warm but I have not seen any signs of primer trouble or cases cracking. In fact I know for sure I've shot some of the same brass 8 times using this load and are reloaded and in an ammo box now.

Being a reloader yourself, approach this loading with caution.
