I had this built by Alex Hamilton of TenRing Precision. It started life as a 2.62" S&W Performance Center 627-5.
The new barrel is a 4" 1978 Highway Patrolman (was never mounted). I had it 11° crowned, Magnaport Quad Ported and he dovetailed the fixed front sight to accept 1911 bases. The rear sight is a Dave Lauck Combat model.
The barrel was re-throated, ejector rod was straightened, all the internals were replaced with TK Custom parts. A new (non-MIM) target hammer was installed, the charging holes were given a better chamfer and he did the best trigger job I have ever felt on a wheelgun. The DA trigger pull went from a gritty 14# to a smooth 5.2#.
Lastly the whole thing was coated in Black KG Gunkote. Topped off with a set of Culina Osage Grips.
