mossburg night train .308 advice

Ok sorry. I should have added more details. I can get a new mossberg night train 308 for $675. It comes with a bipod, 6-18×24 barska scope. Wondering if this would b worth the money or if these guns are known for problems. Anyone have experience with these guns? I live in Canada so getting guns shipped it a pain back there!!

Thanks again

I don't have experience with the rifle. It would depend on the brand and model of bipod. You could do a lot better than a Barska scope. The price sounds good but that could all be because of an inferior scope. Someone will eventually jump in as to the rifle's reliability.

Ok thank-you to all. I did some research and figured out that scope did nothing to enhance the deal. I'll do some more looking around. I don't know what bipod it is my friend told me about this setup. Its at the local gun shop. Ill be waiting to see if anyone with one of these says anything.

Ok and while I'm here can someone suggest an alternative 308 that would b a good buy for under $700.
Thanks :)

I have a mossberg 100ATR in .270 and absolutely love it. With the right handloads It can shoot .5MOA. Not sure about the scope, might spend alittle more for some better glass down the road. I also have a savage 11 in .308 that shoots just as well. Found it at a Gander Mountain before hunting season with a Bushnell 3x9 for just $499. Either one will do great to start with and can easily be upgraded.

Personally before going with the ATR (Night train)

I would rather pick up a stevens 200 with cal. of your choice, and get decent glass for it. You can also pick up a decent bipod for around 60-100 bucks.

I have a stevens 200 that I picked up just for the action, but afer playing around with it. I didnt really need to do alot of adjustments to get it to shoot .3" @100

You can pick these up in canada for just over $300.

Canadian Tire has a bunch up here for $259.

Thats just my .02

Check out the new Marlin... Marlin Model X7VH. I have handled and shot a few, and so far have been very impressed. The barrel is put on the same way a the Savages and Stevens also, not sure what the shank size/threads are though. Most local dealers are about $350. Then put some money into good glass.

Good luck.
