Hey guys, got a few questions. Let me give you a short run down here.
I work away from home. I only see my house a few times a year. I like having my toys with me. So I picked up a 26' Box trailer and made me a moble man cave. I have build a bench big enough to do anything I need to, got my gun safe bolted down, press is mounted, wired with plugs and lights, etc...now I need a generator to power this thing.
My question is...Would a 3600 watt generator be enuff to run 4- 4' lights, my scales, tumbler, my Lyman Gen6, etc.
Thanks guys.

Yes, You would need more if you need heat or air though.

The short answer is yes a generator in the 3KW range would work for you. All the devices you are planning to run should have tag on them indicating they max draw. You can add those up and ensure that your generator is above that capacity.

I have had a Honda 3KW generator for over ten year and it continues to work flawlessly. It has enough starting capacity to start the air conditioner on my camper.

There are several models on the market these days that are very quiet. One thing you could consider is putting an 120V 30A twist lock connection on your trailer and a electrical panel on the inside. This would allow you a nice water tight connection when going down the road and couple of extension cords would allow you to power the trailer whenever you are close to any 120V outlet.

.....
I have the external plug. Trailer is wired with small breaker box. It has 2- 20 amp breakers. One for 6 wall outlets. One for the 4 lights. I'll have to get my electrical stuff and add up the watts and amps. I didn't think about that.
