I'm a huge Meopta fan particularly the Meostar line. Their glass flew under the radar for a long time, so I sincerely hope that a Service Center here in the U.S. happens.

Carlyle Group now owns Meopta.....I am assuming that they must have some large military contracts to underwrite the overhead.

Europtics had some Meostar 2.5-15-X56mm on sale for like a thousand bucks. You won't find a nicer piece of glass for the money.

Is there a shortage on these scopes? Would not surprised me at their price point due to the glass and build quality....probably the best value out there. Hopefully the scarcity is not due to The Carlyle Group (the new owner and part of the Military Industrial Complex) making some 'business decision' to maximize profit by producing high end stuff for government contracts while ignoring the consumer markets.

I've got one on my .284 Winchester build and I love it!. Glass is comparable to stuff costing 3X as much. I've got their DichroTech reticle and FFP which takes some getting used to for bench shooting/load development. I think for practical hunting though the DichroTech reticle and FFP is going to be a big winner in real world conditions, especially in low light like at dawn and sunset. The build is extremely robust with the tradeoff being the scope is several ounces heavier.

I completely understand the "bulky logic" and/or cheek weld potential issues. We as hunters all use our scopes as a tool and understandably there are different tools for the job. Personally, I've never had a problem with cheek weld, bulk, etc. and refuse to give up any lowlight advantage that the 56mm offers. The only scopes that I own in the 40mm/44mm configuration are sitting on .22s, and a 30-30. In my State we can legally hunt Whitetail AN HOUR before/after official sunset-sunrise. Just about any decent scope will afford you an ethical shot in the first 30 minutes. It's the last 30 minutes that's challenging.

I've got several Meopta's and haven't had an issue out of any of them. One is an old Meostar that bought used over 10 years ago.

With the Z-Plus reticle, yes they are scarce.
Last I looked on EuroOptics I only saw 2 with the Z-Plus reticle. And both of them are in the 2-10 power range.

I've been trying to get a Z-Plus reticle for about 5 years now.
One supplier on another forum ended up ****ed at me when I ordered an Optika5 with the Z-Plus reticle and one came in with the Z-Plex reticle and I didn't take it.

I like using the reticle for drops at further distance. Keeps me from forgetting to zero my scope when I go from the range to hunting.
I've had a bad hit on a bear because of that.

I have 4 Burris Fullfield series scopes that all need sent in for warranty. Glass is good. But each one has one of the controls that are so stiff you need pliers to turn them.

I have a Ziess Z4 that I like. But even the sale price was as much as the Sightron SIII 10-50X60 LRTD that I bought.

Since I can't get the Meopta that I want, I've been buying Crimson Trace Hardline and Hardline Pro scopes.
I have 5 now.
As with the Meopta, the quality for the price is outstanding!

Just an FYI. There is a Meopro on Gunbroker with the Z Plus reticle. I believe it's a 3-15X44

I have a couple Meopta's and they definitely hit above their price. The Optika6 in 2.5-15 x 44 or 50 is, in my personal opinion, an ideal hunting optic. Good power range and outstanding glass and controls. I have one on a 25 Creedmoor I built about 6-7 years ago and have yet to feel like I needed more.
