Mature Coyote and Fawns

The Full Moon and Mother Nature made for an interesting evening.

Target rich environment. The fawns are safe from him anyway. Good shot on him.

morning, I have numerous times on hunting shows seen where the
hunters pass up the killing of a coyote?? a very good friend
of mine told me the killing of a very large antler wise
buck is more important than the killing of a major predator
to fawns?? please explain to me the more importance
of the two situations. please join the conversation!!

The two fawns in the end of the video had been running as a pain in the open field all night long. Apparently their mother is deceased. Luckily those other 3 mature deer (who ran away) blew out the coyote. The two fawns were still unsure of what to do when the deer ran away and the dead coyote in field. Hopefully they've learned to run from the coyote.

Decent amount of data showing that killing a few coyotes causes them to rapidly increase breeding/pup rates.

I believe SC did a study where they killed a bunch of them, and saw fawn survival increase the first year. Then the next year they killed even more yotes but fawn survival plummeted from coyote predation. They suggested trapping was the only way to kill enough to ever have an effect on their whitetail population(In SC).

I've read some of those studies too but I just don't see how killing coyotes makes more of them....and not killing them makes less.
