I am looking for a hunting bullet that shoots about, if not, the same as a 175grn smk in .308.

I'm thinking about maybe a 178 ELD-X ,180 AccuBond or Barnes 175 LRX.
Not sure what else there is out there in the same weight range.

I'm currently working up loads for the smk's I was able to get and have to see what my rifle likes node wise for those.
They will be my everyday shooters.

Hopefully when I get the smk's figured out, I can load up some hunters and be close and not have to waste a bunch to find node if necessary.

If I get the FPS of the node my rifle likes with the smk's, can I just load the hunters to the same fps and have the same node?
Would I be off more that a couple of .1 grain points?

Thanks.

The 175 Sierra doesn't have the best BC, the new 155 has a better BC and with the speed gains it's almost equal. But it depends on what you are hunting, if it's big like elk of moose I would go with the the 168 Barnes
