I am in the process of installing Bedhead pillars and bedding a Sendero II. The front screw nearest the recoil lug is only threading-in one turn when the 30/1000ths pillar is in place...not much purchase. It seems unlikely to withstand any torque (the current OEM screw is 1.125 inches). Anyone know of a source for longer screws, say 1.25 inches or more?

I use 1/4x28 ss socket head screws beveled to fit the floor metal. they can be purchased at most hardware stores.

Thread engagement should be between 4 and 5 threads.

Thanks Brother, the "fix" works like a charm. I had a thought that the factory screws are just too **** short, pillars or not. So I pulled apart an old safe queen post-64 M70 Win .270 and those action screws have less than 2 threads of engagement. yikes. I will start pulling all my irons apart and checking them. What are the manufacturers thinking (and why didn't I think of this and inspect sooner)? Thanks again for the guidance. It is appreciated when a pro takes time to school a old soldier shooter but newbie "gun-putterer."
