Hello everyone I am new here so this question may have been answered before. What is the proper torque for the screws that hold the action in the stock. Should the front and rear screws be equal or is torquing them even needed. Also if I were to glass bed the action would torquing these screws assure a better fit?

They may vary from action to action.

Savage states about 35 inch-pounds.

I bolt my pillars in place at snug during bedding. After all the other work is done I torque to spec on installation.
